Laurel Weijer,
Founder & President
Laurel Weijer was inspired to found the Low Milk Supply Foundation after experiencing chronic low milk supply with both of her children. These experiences gave her with a firsthand understanding of the need for an organization that advocates for research on this important yet under-resourced topic, as well as providing support for parents who are facing CLMS. She is currently studying earning a graduate degree in epidemiology focusing on the causes of CLMS.
Helen Baker,
Vice President
Dr. Helen Baker, PhD, MSc, FNP-BC is an assistant clinical professor and the Global and Community Engagement Coordinator for the Lillian Carter Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility within the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. She lives with her husband and daughter in Atlanta.
Bobbi Blush,
Secretary
Bobbi Blush is married to her high school sweetheart and together, they have two dogs, two cats, and a son. Prior to becoming a mom, Bobbi was a family law attorney. After experiencing chronic low milk supply herself, Bobbi endeavored to turn her negative experience into a positive one by bringing awareness to the issue.
Sarah Cooper
Treasurer
Sarah Cooper is an ASL interpreter, burlesque stage manager/performer, bookkeeper and a mom. She has always found a way to make things work, but breastfeeding has, by far, been the biggest challenge she's faced, with the fewest resources. Sarah is passionate about searching for answers, and getting information out to a broader community in an accessible way.
Harriet Dashnow
Board Member
Dr. Harriet Dashnow, BSc, BA, MSc, PhD is a bioinformatics postdoc in the Quinlan Lab at the University of Utah. She completed her PhD at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and the University of Melbourne. She is best known for her work in detecting STR expansions, but has also published bioinformatic methods for clinical exome sequencing and microbial gene detection.
Helen Shere
Board Member
Helen Shere, MA, is the foundational sciences curriculum specialist at Indiana University School of Medicine. Experienced in both biomedical research and education, she is passionate about educating healthcare providers about evidence-based practices for patients affected by and at risk for chronic low supply.
Lindsey Thomas
Board Member
Lindsey Thomas joins the board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Low Supply parent. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and currently services in a variety of roles. She is a school social worker, private therapist, and freelance certified grant researcher and writer. Her free time is spent in her work of founding a center for perinatal mental health that includes perinatal mental health support, lactation support, and advocacy. She is passionate about life-long learning, seeing needs met, and supporting families.
